Treatment of the jewellery

Cleaning and storing the jewellery

Jewelry needs to be cared for to remain beautiful. With that in mind, here are some helpful tips to take the best care of your jewelry. We recommend removing the jewelery when you are in contact with water and antibac. This also applies when you are in contact with cosmetics, hair products and perfume to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.

How to clean your jewelry:

  1. Mix some soap in lukewarm water.
  2. Place the jewelery in the water for around 5 minutes. Use a soft brush, such as a toothbrush, to clean under stones or use your fingers to rub.
  3. Rinse the jewelery in water and dry with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use paper as it can scratch the jewellery.

Please store the jewelery separately to avoid scratches from your other jewellery. Pack them either in the jewelry box that came with the package or in the airtight plastic bag.

PS: You are responsible for the condition of your jewelry.

What is our jewelery made of?

All the product descriptions under each individual product will tell you exactly what kind of material the product is made of. Our products consist of either sterling silver or stainless steel, which in turn can be gold-plated.

Gold-plated jewelery consists of a thin layer of real gold. Our gold jewelery is 18 carat gold plated. The sterling silver or stainless steel is dipped in a bath of electroplating solution, with a lump of solid gold. When an electric current is applied, a thin layer of gold is deposited on the metal. Since the plating is quite thin, the outside of the jewelery (and hence the colour) can wear if the jewelery is not properly treated.

Sterling silver is a luxury metal and is a mixture of pure silver and some other metal, usually copper. The standard is at least 92.5% silver. Hence the 925 stamp that you see on all our sterling silver jewellery. Silver is a soft metal, so it is best to remove jewelry made from silver in situations where rings are likely to be knocked/bumped against hard surfaces.

Stainless steel is a solid metal that will have a long life with its resistance to discoloration, oxidation and rust. Stainless steel is a ferrous alloy, a substance made up of two or more chemical elements.

Cubic zirconia is a synthetic gemstone that comes in various shapes and colors. We use this synthetic gemstone when we want the jewelery to shine a little extra.
